Are you having issues printing PDFs generated from KAMAR? Here's how to fix the issue!

UPDATE 17/10/2025:
We have been able to recreate the issue and have reported all our findings to FileMaker, we are hoping this will be fixed in their next FileMaker client release (22.1).

Resolution: Previously we were advising to install the Helvetica font as a potential fix, however we have found this is inconsistent and can sometimes lead to further errors depending on the way it's deployed. Our direction at this stage is to download the FileMaker 2024 client from HERE, uninstall version 22 and restart the computer before generating the files again.

Please note that this is a Windows issue only, as far as we are aware this does not occur if generating on a Mac.

The Issue
When using FileMaker Pro 22 on a Windows computer, PDFs generated in KAMAR (eg, progress reports or reliever packs) appeared to use a gibberish font.

The Cause
There is an issue in FileMaker Pro 22 where some characters are not rendered when saved as a PDF. FileMaker have identified the issue and are working on a proper fix for the next version of FileMaker. The issue appears to be related to the font used - for example, when using Helvetica, but not Helvetica Neue.
