Information about training for schools, workshops, and the annual Conference.

On-Site Training
Our trainers can provide one-on-one or group training in all areas of KAMAR. Training can be on pre-defined areas or any areas of KAMAR as needed. Common topics include: Markbook, Reports, Pastoral, Financial / Accounts, Timetabling, Administration.
KAMAR Ltd employs its own trainers and doesn't contract out training to third party providers.
Costs to have a trainer visit you on-site are:
- Trainer: $120 per hour (minimum 2 hours)
- Flights: at cost
- Rental Car: $140 per day (when applicable)
- Vehicle Travel: $70 per hour (Minimum 1 hour)
- Overnight: $180 per night (covers motel plus trainer allowance)

Whenever possible, we will schedule training to reduce travel costs, however, this may not be possible if you have specific training dates that must be met.
Remote Training
Remote training for your staff is an option to get/keep your key staff trained.
How this works is, we settle on a date and time, we ring the person concerned and using Screen Sharing software to dial into their computer via the Internet and run a training session for them live on their computer. Any topic(s) can be covered - Markbooks,
Reports, Financial, Pastoral, International Students, MoE, NZQA, etc. Small groups of up to three staff can be trained this way, especially if you have some form of audio conferencing.
Remote Training sessions can be scheduled any time from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.
- $90 for the first hour (minimum charge)
- $30 per 20-minute block after 1st hour
Please Email the KAMAR helpdesk (support@kamar.nz) to book a session. When scheduling we book a maximum of 2 hours per session, but you can book multiple sessions.
If you are considering Remote Training please bear in mind that since this option is reliant on the Internet, your school's connection can impact the effectiveness of the training.
PLEASE NOTE: we do not conduct remote sessions via mobile phones.
Conference
The KAMAR Conference is held during Term Two each year and is a great opportunity for schools to find out about all the changes planned for the following year.
It is also a forum to meet and interact with other people in other schools using KAMAR.
A range of seminars are run covering all areas of KAMAR. The majority of these are presented by teachers from a range of KAMAR schools, showing tips, tricks and general know-how on their use of KAMAR in their schools.
Over 300 attend the KAMAR conference each year, including Principals, DP's / AP's, Teachers, Technicians, Office and Accounting staff.
Workshops
Full or half-day workshops on pre-defined topics are offered to KAMAR schools. This is a good time to learn more about specific areas of KAMAR in a small, classroom setting.
Our main Workshop area is Timetabling. However, workshops in other areas can be arranged to suit schools with specific requests. This is numbers dependent.
